A consultation does not guarantee medicine
The doctor decides whether a medicine is clinically appropriate after assessing the patient. Some concerns need tests, monitoring, in-person examination, or non-drug care instead.
Read every instruction
Check the medicine name, dose, frequency, duration, and any specific instruction. If a direction is unclear, ask the issuing doctor or dispensing pharmacist before taking the medicine.
Use responsible pharmacy fulfilment
Prescription-only medicines should be supplied against a valid prescription. Any eligible substitution should be explained clearly, and the patient should understand what is changing before fulfilment.
