General information only. This guide does not diagnose a condition or replace a consultation. For a medical emergency, seek immediate care at an appropriate facility.

Prepare the important details

A useful consultation starts before the call. Write down when the concern began, what has changed, and what makes it better or worse. Keep the names and doses of medicines, known allergies, existing conditions, and recent test results nearby.

  • Your main concern and how long it has lasted
  • Medicines, supplements, and allergies
  • Recent results or discharge notes
  • Two or three questions you want answered

Choose a private, practical setting

Use a quiet place with enough light for the doctor to see you clearly. Check your connection, microphone, and camera before the appointment. If another person will join, make sure the patient understands and agrees where appropriate.

Know the limits of online care

A clinician may decide that an examination, test, or urgent physical assessment is needed. That is a safe clinical outcome, not a failed consultation. MyDoctor24 is not an emergency service; severe or rapidly worsening symptoms need immediate physical care.
